Yamapi to go Solo and Leave NEWS in August (April Fools)

The original perfect male is following in the footsteps of his friend, Jin, and trying out his luck in the west.

One of Johnny's all-time-greats, Mr. Yamapi-sama, is going to leave his group since 2003 (NEWS) and concentrate on his solo career.

Yamapi, who's always been known as a great singer, tells us how it went down in this exclusive interview with JKBP:

Q: Hello, Yamapi. Nice to meet you again. So, what is this we've been hearing about you going solo?
Yamapi (Pi): Hello to you too. I've always wanted to try out different things and this seems like the right time to earn money as a solo artist.
Q: Earn money? Is that the most important factor?
Pi: Nah, can't say it's the MOST important thing but Pi's gotta make a living!
Q: Naturally. So, how'd you decide on taking this big step after all these years as a leader of your group NEWS?
Pi: Actually, my first solo album (SUPERGOOD, SUPERBAD) had a lot to do with it. As you know Jin (Akanishi) is currently touring in the US and after he had listened to my album he decided to take it on the playlist during his weekly DJ gigs on selected clubs. Well, I don't really need to tell you what happened after that, do I?
Q: Why don't you enlighten us.
Pi: Okay then. Well, the ladies went wild! Jin says it reminded him of his LOVEJUICE performances back in the day. And Pi wants to be where ladies roam wild.
Q: Let me put that on paper... Done! How've your bandmates reacted to this news (no pun intented)?
Pi: You know, you wouldn't actually expect it from him, but Tegoshi's been the most supportive of my decision to go solo. He's been my biggest fan since he was 11 (that's what he says, at least) and when my album came out, he actually bought all 5 different versions!
Q: That's very nice of him!
Pi: I know! Bless that kid! *laughs*
Q: Thanks so much for answering all these questions and telling us about your future plans.
Pi: No problem. Please come and watch us on our summer tour.
Q: Will do.

	Hahaha. Yeah that and the April Fool's thing was kinda what gave it away. Just had to make sure though, my life would probably fall apart if Pi did leave NEWS
